SAA event in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bannu District area, Pakistan on Sat 5th September 2026

Five terrorists affiliated with Fitna-al-Khawarij [FaK, a State term for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)] were killed during an intelligence-based operation by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Bannu Region, and local Police in Bannu District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khyber Chronicles reports on September 5. According to the report, Security Forces (SFs) acted on intelligence regarding the presence and movement of FaK terrorists and raided a suspected hideout. An ensuing gunfight resulted in the killing of five terrorists, while several others reportedly escaped. Security personnel subsequently conducted a search operation in the area to prevent the fleeing terrorists from regrouping. The operation was aimed at disrupting the FaK network and preventing attacks in Bannu and adjoining areas.
