SAA event in Jammu and Kashmir, Ashdar Gali, Budgam District area, India on Fri 4th September 2026

On September 4, one unidentified terrorist was killed, and an AK rifle along with other war-like stores was recovered during a joint operation in the Ashdar Gali area of Budgam District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Greater Kashmir. The operation was launched by the Indian Army, J&K Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) following specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists. During the operation, troops observed suspicious movement and challenged the suspected terrorists, who responded by opening fire. Security Forces (SFs) retaliated, resulting in an exchange of fire in which one terrorist was killed. The Army’s Chinar Corps said the search operation under Operation ASHDAR remained underway. The identity of the slain terrorist and details of the other recovered items were yet to be ascertained.
