On September 2, two cadres of United Kuki National Army (UKNA) were killed and two others injured during a joint Indian Army-Assam Rifles operation at Parbung village in Churachandpur District, Manipur Northeast Now reports. The operation was conducted following intelligence inputs regarding alleged UKNA activities, including intimidation and extortion of civilians, educational institutions and financial entities. According to official sources, Security Forces (SFs) approached a temporary UKNA camp and came under automatic fire, triggering a gunfight in which two cadres were killed and two others injured. The remaining cadres reportedly fled the area. SFs subsequently recovered three automatic rifles, a 40 mm Lathode launcher and other war-like stores, and destroyed the temporary camp. Combing operations were underway.
