A civilian was shot dead by a terrorist military column in Thayetchaung Township, Tanintharyi Region, according to a report by the Rehmonnya - Human Rights Foundation of MonLand and statements from local residents.
The terrorist military, which has been conducting column operations since August to regain control over the Myeik-Dawei road section in Thayetchaung Township, advanced into Thayet Hnit Khwa Village in two separate columns early this morning, September 8, when they were ambushed with landmines by revolutionary forces.
Following the landmine ambush, soldiers fired heavy artillery, small arms, and drone strikes indiscriminately, causing Daw Yin Myint, a resident in her 50s from Thayet Hnit Khwa Village, to suffer a gunshot wound and bleed to death.
