Projectile event in Magway Region, Minbu Township area, Myanmar on Sat 5th September 2026

A 20-year-old disabled woman, Ma Wai Wai Htay, and a 13-year-old boy, Maung Waing La Min Aung, were killed when a military column entered and opened fire on Muttaw Gyi Village in Minbu Township, Magway Region, a local news source told Khit Thit Media.

On the morning of September 5 between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM, a terrorist military column of about 80 troops advancing from Paung Village entered Muttaw Gyi Village while indiscriminately firing heavy artillery and small arms.

During the military's random gunfire, 20-year-old mute disabled woman Ma Wai Wai Htay and 13-year-old Maung Waing La Min Aung—both residents of Muttaw Gyi Village—were killed, while Ma Ei Thiri Aung sustained injuries.

There were no revolutionary forces in or around Muttaw Gyi Village, nor had any clashes taken place; the military unprovokedly raided the village and shot civilians.
