At least five soldiers were killed when a military column advancing from Kyi Village toward Shwe Aung Thar Village in Saw Township, Magway Region was attacked, and wounded soldiers were carried on stretchers to Kyauktu, a Yaw Region news source told Khit Thit Media.
Yesterday, September 4, as troops stationed in Kyi Village, Saw Township continued their column march toward Shwe Aung Thar Village, revolutionary forces attacked them, killing five Military Council soldiers who were buried the same day on a pagoda hill behind Kyi Village.
On the morning of September 4, a military column of about 60 troops set out from Artillery Battalion 368 based in Kyauktu to retrieve the wounded soldiers from the Kyi Village battle. As this retrieval column entered Nyaung Kar Yar, revolutionary forces detonated landmines against them, injuring four more soldiers.
