SAA event in Bago Region, Nyaunglebin area, Myanmar on Fri 4th September 2026

In Pyuntaza, Nyaunglebin District, Bago Region, village administrator Soe Htay—accused of collecting military recruitment fees from local residents and aiding the Military Council's administrative apparatus—and his disciple, Pyu Saw Htee leader Aung Kyaw Myo, were shot and are receiving emergency treatment at Bago Hospital, according to the 9 Stars UG group.

On September 4 at around 1:00 PM, 9 Stars UG attacked Soe Htay, administrator of Yae Twin Kone Village in the Hleh Seik Village Tract of Pyuntaza, alongside Aung Kyaw Myo (a.k.a. Ko Kyaw), a 100-house elder and Pyu Saw Htee leader from Aung Gyi Village, along a road while they were traveling from Aung Gyi Village to Pyuntaza town.

During the attack, Administrator Soe Htay was struck by 6 bullets and Pyu Saw Htee leader Aung Kyaw Myo was hit by 3 bullets. Because neither moved after being shot, they were assumed dead; however, follow-up reports indicate both were transported to Bago Hospital for emergency care, 9 Stars UG stated.
