Hoax event in Vilnius, Abraomas Kulvietis Gymnasium area, Lithuania on Thu 10th September 2026

Police received an anonymous report Thursday morning threatening explosions at several schools in Vilnius, including the Adomas Mickevičius Lyceum and the Užupis, Žvėrynas, Veiksmo, Pažinimo Medžio and Abraomas Kulvietis gymnasia.

The threats said the explosions would take place at 10:00.

A private security company also received a report claiming that the Žvėrynas Gymnasium had been booby-trapped, prompting the evacuation of students from the building.

No explosions occurred at the threatened time.

Police said the threatening emails, which were sent to several government institutions, contained numerous grammatical and logical errors.

Officers contacted all the schools named in the threats and sent patrols to the locations. Police said they were checking and analysing the information and that, at this stage, they had found no indication of a real threat.

Authorities advised schools to remain vigilant but continue the educational process.

Police also recommended that those responsible for school security inspect their premises and immediately call the emergency number 112 if they find any suspicious objects.
