UAV event in Mykolaiv area, Ukraine on Wed 9th September 2026

On the night of September 10, the Russian army attacked the Mykolaiv detention center. The issue of evacuating the people held there is currently being considered.

This was announced by the representative of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, Vasyl Donets, during the 28th extraordinary session of the Mykolaiv Regional Council.

According to the official, a "shaheed" arrived at the Mykolaiv pre-trial detention center at night.

"There are a lot of issues there right now related to the evacuation of prisoners and the people who are there."

What is known about the attacks of September 9 and the night of September 10?

During the 9th and morning of September 10, Mykolaiv was under attack by Russian KABs, "Banderoli" and "Shahedi". 

The attacks killed four people — two men, ages 49 and 53, and two women, ages 45 and 64. Nineteen people were injured — eight men, ages 28 to 74, eight women, ages 18 to 71, two boys, ages 1 and 8, and a 2-year-old girl.

The port and industrial infrastructure, as well as civilian facilities in the city, were hit, the OVA said.
