Troops arrest two suspects over attack on farmers in Kogi By: Zagazola Makama

Troops of 12 Brigade, operating from Irekpeni Patrol Base, have arrested two suspected criminals over an attack on farmers in Irekpeni Village, Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Zagazola Makama gathered from military sources that the incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 7, 2026, when the suspects allegedly attacked farmers working on their farmlands and inflicted machete injuries on some of the victims.

Following the incident, troops moved in and apprehended two suspects believed to be linked to the attack. The injured farmers were evacuated by the troops to Irepana Clinic for medical attention. The suspects were subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police at Irekpeni for further investigation and prosecution.
