On 4 September 2026, Russian forces (units of the 'Center' group using operational-tactical aviation, combat UAVs, missile forces, and artillery) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment, including a marine brigade and three National Guard brigades (coded to Dobropillia) near Andriivka, Donetsk. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost: two armored combat vehicles, nine vehicles, a US-made M777 155mm howitzer and up to 425 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Novohryshyne, Novovodiane, Andriivka and Dobropillia [Russian MoD reported 425 fatalities.
