On 1 September 2026, at around 00:50 am Muscat time, suspected Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) fired unidentified projectiles (coded as missile attack based on previous activity) that directly impacted the Saudi-flagged crude oil tanker Sidr (IMO: 9854715) in the Strait of Hormuz, around 17 nm northeast of Khasab and 2 nm from Jazirat Tuwakkul (alias Bu Rashid) (coded to Coast of Kumzar) (Khasab, Musandam). The attack forced the ship to anchor and killed 2 Filipino sailors.
