On 30 August 2026, at around 1:55 am Muscat time, suspected Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) fired a projectile (coded as missile attack based on previous activity) that directly impacted the Burgan oil/chemical tanker (IMO: 9656022) in the Strait of Hormuz off the Coast of Khasab, around 12 nm north of Khasab (Khasab, Musandam). The projectile hit the vessel's starboard aft ballast tank, forcing the ship to anchor. There were no casualties. A tug was dispatched to assist the vessel.
