On 3 September 2026, an FPV drone operated by an unidentified armed group crashed near an oil storage tank of the state-owned fuel distribution firm Brega Oil Marketing Company in Tripoli - Tripoli Airport Road (Tripoli, West). There were no casualties and no significant material damage. After the attack, the National Oil Corporation (NOC), owner of Brega, pumped fuel out of the tanks to lower their levels as a precautionary measure.
