On 31 August 2026, in Algeciras (Huila), suspected FARC dissidents detonated an explosive device outside a commerce establishment near the city centre, partially damaging the property's facade. Authorities investigate whether the attack was linked to the refusal to pay extortion demands. The establishment was closed at the moment of the attack so no injuries were reported. There were no casualties.
