On 31 August 2026, unidentified armed assailants threw a hand grenade through the gate of the Taliban police headquarters in Firoz Koh, (Chighcheran) city, Ghor. The attack targeted the Taliban police command and injured five Taliban members while damaging the headquarters' building. The Republican Front of Afghanistan and the Afghanistan United Front both issued separate statements and claimed responsibility for the attack.
