In Mykolaiv, the police suspect a 43-year-old man of firing a non-lethal pistol. According to the investigation, he fired shots near a leisure venue in the direction of the street where people were present.
This was reported on 7 September by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Mykolaiv Oblast.
According to law enforcement officials, the police received a report of shots being fired on Soborna Street on the evening of 6 September.
According to the police report, the man was near the leisure centre.
“The man was brandishing a non-lethal pistol, for which he held an expired licence. He then fired a shot in the direction of the street where people were present.”
No one was injured, the police press office stated.
The police tracked down the man. He turned out to be a 43-year-old local resident. Investigators also seized the cartridge casing and the non-lethal pistol.
Investigators informed the man that he was suspected of an offence under the section “Hooliganism committed with the use of a weapon”. The penalty for this offence carries a maximum sentence of seven years’ imprisonment.
