Eight Civilians Reportedly Killed in Airstrike on Ye-U

At least seven civilians were killed after the Myanmar military allegedly carried out an airstrike on Tin Tein Yan Village (တင်းတိမ်ရံကျေးရွာ) in Ye-U Township, Sagaing Region, on 7 September, according to a source cited by Red Peacock News.

The source said that at approximately 5:00 p.m., the military launched an aerial attack using three gyrocraft/rotary aircraft and one Mi-35 attack helicopter, despite there being no ongoing fighting in the area.

A local source stated:

"People who had come to repair vehicles were among the victims. The shop owner's daughter was also reportedly included. The attack struck an auto repair workshop. Eight people were killed."

The source added that while the death toll was believed to have reached eight, only seven bodies had been recovered immediately after the attack.

The article also notes that the National Unity Government (NUG) reported that the military committed 528 human rights violations nationwide during August.

According to an NUG statement issued on 2 September, the military carried out 530 airstrikes across 13 areas of Myanmar during August.

The NUG stated that Sagaing Region experienced the highest number of airstrikes, resulting in the deaths of 139 civilians, including 18 children under the age of 18.
