Pakokku Division 101 suicide drones attack Myaing and Myitche

Magway, September 5

According to a statement released by the Anyar Myae Civil Society Organization (Myaing), suicide drones were used to attack Myaing Township and Myitche (Myit Chay), but no casualties occurred because local residents received advance warning.

At around 12:00 noon on September 5, two suicide drones from Military Division 101 based in Pakokku attacked football fields in two villages in the southern part of Myaing Township.

A representative of the Anyar Myae Civil Society Organization (Myaing) said:

"If we had not received advance information, there could have been many casualties. There were football players present, along with young people watching nearby. Since it was a school holiday, there were also children. Many of them could have been injured or killed. Because we received prior warning, people were able to avoid the attack."

At the same time, the organization reported that two additional suicide drones from Division 101 attacked a village near Myitche.

On the morning of September 4 at around 10:00 a.m., the military allegedly carried out a gyrocraft/drone bombing attack on Aingyi Village and Pauktaw Village near Myitche, resulting in the deaths of five civilians.

According to a statement issued this month by Myanmar's National Unity Government (NUG), the military committed 528 human rights violations across the country during August and conducted 530 air attacks in 13 regions of Myanmar.

The NUG stated that the highest number of air attacks occurred in the Sagaing Region, and that a total of 139 civilians, including 18 children under the age of 18, were killed.
