In the federal state of Saxony, Germany , police discovered 21 explosive devices near energy infrastructure facilities.
This is reported by the German publication Tagesschau.
The Dresden prosecutor's office and the Saxony state criminal police department reported that 21 improvised explosive devices were placed in the immediate vicinity of high-voltage power lines south of the Grausstein substation near Schleife in the Görlitz district.
According to the investigation, the devices were intended to damage the energy infrastructure through short circuits. The police have a letter claiming responsibility for possible incidents in Saxony.
Those responsible for placing the explosive devices are unknown. The police are investigating.
On September 4, in the German city of Dormagen, located between Cologne and Düsseldorf (federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia), police are investigating an alleged sabotage at a local electrical substation.
On September 1, local law enforcement in Germany discovered explosive devices at the Turnow-Preilak substation near the Jenschwalde coal-fired power plant in southern Brandenburg. The incident knocked out a 500-megawatt unit.
