Four Civilians Killed in Gyrocopter Attack in Pakokku Township
Magway, September 4
Four civilians were killed after two Myanmar military gyrocopters carried out a bombing attack at around 11:00 a.m. today (September 4) on Ai Gyi Village and Pauk Taw Village, located along the Ayeyarwady River in Pakokku Township, near the border between Magway Region and Mandalay Region, according to a local source who spoke to Red Peacock News Media.
The two gyrocopters reportedly flew from Nyaung-U Airport and dropped bombs on Ai Gyi Village and Pauk Taw Village in Pakokku Township.
A local source said:
“The gyrocopter attack killed four civilians and injured one person.”
However, according to photographic evidence reviewed by Red Peacock News Media, one woman and two men were killed, while two women were injured.
According to a statement released this month by the National Unity Government (NUG), the Myanmar military committed 528 human rights violations across the country during August and carried out a total of 530 airstrikes across 13 regions of Myanmar.
The NUG stated that Sagaing Region experienced the highest number of airstrikes, resulting in the deaths of 139 civilians, including 18 children under the age of 18.
