SAA event in Balochistan, Mashkel, Washuk District area, Pakistan on Sun 30th August 2026

On August 30, a large number of Baloch insurgents reportedly entered Mashkel town in Washuk District of Balochistan and took control of the town, including government installations, reports Zrumbesh. The insurgents seized the Police Station, customs check post and surrounded the main Frontier Corps (FC) camp. Heavy gunfire and explosions were reportedly heard as clashes continued. During the clash, the insurgents allegedly shot down a quadcopter operating in the area. Following the clashes, insurgents conducted searches and established checkpoints in Gonko, Archno, Peshuk, Kataddo and adjoining areas after reports of suspicious individuals entering the region. Several persons were detained; some were later released, while others were reportedly taken away. No insurgent group has so far claimed responsibility, and authorities have not issued an official statement on the reported takeover or clashes.
