SAA event in Balochistan, Wango, Khuzdar District area, Pakistan on Fri 28th August 2026

Unidentified armed men, suspected to be Baloch insurgents, blocked the CPEC route near Wango area of Khuzdar District in Balochistan on August 28, taking control of a stretch of the highway before attacking Security Forces (SFs) following morning (August 29), reports Zrumbesh. The gunmen reportedly in large numbers set up checkpoints near Wango and carried out snap checking along the main highway through the night of August 28. By morning of August 29, SFs stationed nearby came under attack. Armoured vehicles and other military vehicles were hit, leaving the forces with losses, though the exact scale remains unclear. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, and no official statement has been issued.
