Military Convoy Returning from Thantlang Attacked with Landmines Near Tedim Entrance

A Myanmar military convoy was attacked with landmines near the entrance to Tedim Town, Chin State, yesterday (September 2), according to Ci Cim, an information officer from PDF-Zoland, speaking to Red Peacock News Media.

The convoy consisted of three Faw trucks and one 12-wheel truck. It was returning to Tedim Town from the Thantlang front line, traveling along the Falam–Thihnging road route.

Members of PDF-Zoland reportedly carried out the mine attack at around 2:30 p.m. on September 2 near the entrance to Tedim Town.

Ci Cim, from PDF-Zoland's information department, stated:

“They were returning via the Falam route, coming from Thihnging toward Tedim. We detonated the mines near the entrance to Tedim. There were likely casualties, but we have not yet been able to confirm the exact losses.”

According to PDF-Zoland, the soldiers traveling in the convoy were members of Infantry Battalion 269 (LIB-269), which is based in Tedim Town.

Ci Cim also warned travelers and local residents to be cautious to avoid mixing with military personnel and to remain alert because the military has reportedly been conducting porter recruitment/forced porterization activities.

The mine attack was carried out by PDF-Zoland.
