A Sergeant Killed After Clash with People's Defense Forces in Depayin Township

In Depayin Township, Sagaing Region, a clash lasting about 15 minutes took place yesterday (September 2) between People's Defense Force (PDF) fighters and a group of approximately 20 junta soldiers who had left their base to search for supplies, according to a statement released by Aphyu Yaung D.P.Y (White D.P.Y).

A representative of White D.P.Y told Red Peacock News Media that the attack was carried out after troops stationed in Depayin Town advanced to the eastern outskirts of the town in search of supplies.

The White D.P.Y official said:

"They followed our withdrawal route and fired indiscriminately. When we later conducted area-clearing operations, we recovered a body and one firearm."

According to White D.P.Y, following the clash, one military sergeant was killed and another soldier was seriously wounded on the junta side.

The group further stated that the military currently maintains control only over Depayin Town, while frequently carrying out attacks on surrounding villages using suicide drones.

The operation was conducted jointly by White D.P.Y, Combat Zone 1, and Combat Zone 2.
