An attack by terrorists targeting Gomal Police Station in Tank District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was repulsed on August 26 following a retaliatory response by Police personnel and Security Forces (SFs) deployed at the facility, reports The Khyber Chronicles. According to Police, the terrorists launched an armed assault on the Police Station using sniper rifles and other heavy weapons. At the time of the attack, personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC), 221 Wing, were also present at the Police Station alongside police personnel. The retaliatory response by the SFs forced the terrorists to retreat and flee the area.
