Two Afghan nationals were shot dead by unidentified assailants close to Sheikh Zaid Hospital in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan, on August 25, reports Dawn. The attackers opened fire and fled the scene before help could arrive, leaving both victims dead on the spot. The deceased were close companions of a former commander of the Afghan National Army, Baseer Achakzai, who migrated to Quetta a few years after the takeover of Afghanistan by Taliban. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
