Amritsar Rural Police arrested three persons, identified as Sajan Arora, Vijaypal Singh and Jashanpreet Singh and recovered 10 kilograms of heroin, a .30-bore pistol and a motorcycle from the Ram Tirth area of Amritsar District on August 24, reports The Tribune. Preliminary investigation indicated that the accused were allegedly in contact with Pakistan-based smugglers and part of a cross-border drug network. Vijaypal Singh has a previous record under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, including a 2025 case in which 1 kilogram of heroin was recovered from him.
