Amritsar Commissionerate Police busted three alleged arms and drug trafficking networks with the arrest of five persons, identified as Armaandeep Singh, Teerath Singh, Shamsher Singh alias Shera, Kamlesh Rani and a juvenile, and recovered nine illegal pistols and 6.311 kilograms of heroin, in Amritsar District on August 24, reports The Times of India. The weapons included Turkish-made Zigana pistols, Chinese-made pistols, and Austrian and Italian-made handguns. Police registered three separate First Information Reports (FIRs) and seized three motorcycles allegedly used for smuggling. Preliminary investigation suggests the accused were in contact with foreign-based handlers who supplied arms and drugs for further distribution in Punjab.
