An armed clash between elements of the Mexican Army and a group of armed civilians left as a preliminary toll one dead person and eight detained this Tuesday in the municipality of Satevó, Chihuahua. According to reports from security agencies, the confrontation occurred just before 3:00 p.m., when military personnel were conducting patrols along a dirt road and were attacked by armed civilians. The elements of the Secretariat of National Defense repelled the aggression and took down one of the alleged attackers. After the clash, a large security operation was deployed with the participation of elements from the National Guard, the State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE), and the State Attorney General's Office, who arrived to support the military personnel and secure the area. As a result of the intervention, eight men were detained and placed at the disposal of the Federal Attorney General's Office (FGR), the authority that took over the investigation of the case due to the probable possession of firearms exclusive to the Armed Forces. During the proceedings, nine long-arm firearms were also seized, along with a gray RAM 1500 pickup truck, 2017 model. According to information released by authorities, tactical gear with the inscription “Gente Nueva” was also located. To date, the authorities have not officially revealed the identity of the man who d!ed nor the names of the eight detained individuals.
