Ukrainians injured in explosion at German railway station.

A local media outlet has reported that two Ukrainians were injured in an explosion at Augsburg Central Station in Bavaria on the morning of 2 September.

Details: The explosion occurred in a passageway inside the station building near a bank. Two people sustained minor injuries. Windows were also damaged.

Local newspaper Presse Augsburg reported that a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man who were injured in the attack are Ukrainian citizens.

Law enforcement officers cordoned off the station building and platform one. All the other platforms remained in operation for some time, while passengers were advised to use the station's southern and northern entrances.

Police later announced that the entire station building had been closed after a suspicious object was discovered. Train services were suspended.

Officers from the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office were called to the scene to investigate. Police said it is not yet clear what the object was and exactly how the explosion occurred.
