Major’s Vehicle from KaPaSa 7 Hit by Landmine Attack on the Pyay-Aunglan Road

An official from the Magway Region People's Defense Force (Aunglan) told Khit Thit Media that a vehicle carrying a major from the military's Defense Industries Directorate (KaPaSa-7) was targeted in a landmine ambush on the Pyay-Aunglan road section in Magway Region.

The attack reportedly occurred at around 9:00 a.m. on August 30 near the northern road junction of Nga Pyin Village along the Pyay-Aunglan road. Of two civilian vehicles traveling together and carrying the major from KaPaSa-7, one was struck in the ambush.

According to the report, civilian passenger vehicles were also present in the area at the time of the attack. As a result, only the lead vehicle could be targeted, while the second vehicle escaped.

The group further stated that because civilian passenger vehicles had become trapped within the area of engagement, they did not carry out any follow-on mine attacks or gunfire and instead withdrew from the scene.

An official from the Magway Region People's Defense Force (Aunglan) said:

"No soldiers were killed in the attack. There were only injuries. The vehicle's windows were shattered. Since civilian passenger vehicles were near the attack site, we did not continue the attack and withdrew."

The attack was reportedly carried out by the BRAVO Fire Team of Battalion No. 2, Thayet District, People's Defense Force. The group also urged civilians not to travel close to military convoys and to avoid following military vehicles when encountered.
