Myanmar Military Burns Kyat Tu Yoe Village in Singu Township and Te Gyi Village in Myaing Township

According to officials from the Singu Township People's Defense Team (Pa Ka Pha) and the Myaing Township People's Defense Team, the Myanmar military has been carrying out arson attacks against Kyat Tu Yoe Village in Singu Township, Mandalay Region, and Te Gyi Village in Myaing Township.

The Singu Township People's Defense Team (NUG) reported that on August 27, troops stationed in Thei Inn Village in Singu Township set fire to Kyat Tu Yoe Village, which is located along the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) River.

A Singu People's Defense Team official said:

"The village is no longer inhabited. It has been burned down 11 times."

A local source also confirmed the burning of the village to Red Peacock News Media.

This morning, a Myaing Township People's Defense Team official stated that the military was also burning Te Gyi Village in Myaing Township, Magway Region:

"The military column is already burning Te Gyi Village. A large portion of the village has been set on fire. The military column suffered significant losses there."

Earlier, on August 15, the military reportedly conducted an airstrike on Te Gyi Village, damaging civilian homes.

UNOCHA Myanmar has stated that more than 3.8 million people have been displaced across Myanmar since the military takeover.
