On 27 August 2026, at 2:30 pm Sanaa time, Houthi forces fired 4 ballistic missiles targeting boats at a fishing anchorage near Hanish Island (coded as Jazirat al Hanish al Kabir) (Al Khawkhah, Al Hudaydah). The island overlooks international shipping lanes in the South Red Sea. The boats were carrying around 120 fishermen and resulted in the injury of 6 fishermen and the destruction and burning of 12 fishing boats. There were no casualties.
