On September 10, a self-styled ‘chief’ of Socialist Democratic Front of Kukiland (SDFK), a non- Suspension of Operation (SoO) group was killed in an encounter at New Lamka in Churachandpur District of Manipur, reports E Pao. Acting on the inputs about the ‘chief’ identified as Letminthang Haokipalias Boithang and his bodyguard at Khominthang village, New Lamka, security forces (SF) surrounded a house. However, militants fired at the SF and in retaliation, the ‘chief’ was killed.
