On 24 August 2026, in Sein Nyin Wa village (Paletwa township, Matupi district, Chin state), the Myanmar military launched airstrikes and dropped two 500lb bombs and one 300lb bomb and fired eight rockets on a monastic school using two fighter jets at around 11:30 am. 5 civilians, including 2 children, were killed, and 17 others, including nine primary school students, sustained injuries. 19 houses and the school were damaged. 5 fatalities.
