On 24 August 2026, an Israeli drone struck an IDP's tent on Sheikh Dawoud street near Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al Balah (Deir El Balah, Gaza Strip), killing 2 brothers, 1 of them a Hamas Nukhba member, and injuring several others [1 of the brothers succumbed to wounds later on 24 August 2026]. Also, Israeli warplanes struck the courtyard of Abu Salim mosque in the same location, injuring several people and causing significant material damage to the mosque and its surroundings. Total fatalities were 2. The IDF stated that they targeted 2 Hamas Nukhba members, who took part in the October 7 attack, in this location, and that the second man survived. The IDF also claimed that they struck a Hamas weapons depot inside a mosque in this location. This event occurred in a Hamas-controlled area of the Yellow Line.
