On 24 August 2026, Israeli warplanes struck Asqalan prayer hall and an adjacent residential home in Gaza - Ash Shati' Camp (Gaza City, Gaza Strip), injuring several people. Also, Israeli warplanes struck the Al Tawam area in the same location, injuring 1 person. The IDF claimed that they targeted a Hamas weapons depot inside a mosque in this location.
