On 28 August 2026, unidentified assailants hurled a grenade towards the residence of Manipur government's spokesperson (also a BJP legislator) in Konthoujam town (Imphal West, Manipur) over unknown reasons, amidst ongoing ethnic tensions in the state. The explosion left a crater and created a splinter damage to the wall and window within the residential compound. There were no casualties.
