On 22 August 2026, the Malian army and Africa Corps claimed to have conducted airstrikes on a gathering of armed militants, including their leaders, holding war materials and logistical supplies (likely JNIM, based on the presence of the militant group in the area and previous similar operations against the group in the region), located south of Boulkessi (Mondoro, Douentza, Mopti). Casualties unknown.
