On 26 August 2026, at 10:00 pm, ENDF conducted a drone strike targeting TDF weapons storage in a secondary school in Gijet town, Saharti (South Eastern Tigray, Tigray). Sources reported that the strike triggered a massive fire, followed by several explosions, because some military explosive material had been stored in the school alongside educational equipment. Sources also confirmed that 1 block of the school was completely destroyed, along with 35 donated computers and other educational materials inside the rooms. There were no casualties. The Tigray Education Bureau accused the federal government of the drone strikes on the secondary school in Tigray.
