An armed attack Friday night at the Centro de Usos Múltiples (CUM) in Hermosillo, Sonora, led to the official cancellation of the boxing and influencer event, "Noche Suprema: El Norte Manda," scheduled for Saturday, August 29. Around 8:30 p.m., a group of armed men stormed the sports complex located at the intersection of Boulevard Solidaridad and Perimetral Norte. The assailants fired multiple shots inside the main arena, causing staff to seek shelter. Before fleeing, the attackers set fire to the boxing ring structure, which had already been set up for the event. The State Attorney General's Office (FGJE) and security forces responded to the scene and officially confirmed that no injuries or fatalities resulted from the attack. In a statement, the State Security Council announced the complete cancellation of the event, indicating that the attack was directed at the production team. It also stated that, although the promoter had obtained the necessary permits from the municipal Civil Protection agency, he failed to hire the required private security to ensure the safety of the attendees.
