Attacks capturing two military bases in southwestern Madaya Township, Mandalay Region left at least 10 junta soldiers dead, with weapons and ammunition seized, Ko Daung, Information Officer for Madaya Township People's Defense Force (Pa Ka Pha), told Yangon Khit Thit News.
On August 13 at around 3:30 AM, People's Defense Forces launched simultaneous attacks on two military outposts stationed with roughly 30 troops in Kyein Taw and Kone Tan Gyi villages in southwestern Madaya Township.
During the initial phase of the battle, People's Defense Forces gained the upper hand in the firefight, inflicting heavy soldier casualties before the remaining troops fled through civilian homes.
Subsequent area clearance operations led to the recovery of six soldiers' bodies, along with one MA-11 rifle, one MA-2 rifle, bulletproof helmets, binoculars, and other ammunition.
