A drone strike launched by revolutionary forces against a 15-vessel junta naval convoy moving upstream along the Irrawaddy River caught one warship on fire near Thabeikkyin Township, while military aircraft patrolled overhead, according to a KIA military source.

Today, August 23, the vessel convoy traveling upstream from Mandalay along the Irrawaddy River comprises a total of 15 vessels: two combat warships, four landing craft, and nine push-tugs.

The junta naval convoy has reached the riverway near Hman Thar village near Thabeikkyin Township and is continuing to move upstream along the Irrawaddy River.

As the military fleet moves upstream, the military is deploying one reconnaissance aircraft and one Y-12 aircraft to hover and conduct aerial reconnaissance overhead, the KIA military source stated.

When revolutionary forces attacked the advancing junta convoy with drones, smoke billowed from one vessel after it caught fire.
