21st August 2026
Starting early on the morning of August 21, two combat warships, four flat-bottomed boats, and eight push-tugs departed from Mandalay's Gowein Port and traveled along the Irrawaddy River. Upon entering Madaya Township, the vessel convoy began firing heavy weapons and small arms indiscriminately along the riverway.
The fleet anchored overnight near Shein Makar village in Wetlet Township before resuming its upstream journey early on the morning of August 22 at around 5:00 AM.
As the vessels advanced upstream this morning, a reconnaissance aircraft and a Y-12 aircraft taking off from Tada-U airbase hovered and patrolled the area, conducting two air strikes on Kam Phyu village in eastern Wetlet Township.
Due to the airstrikes, a local resident of Kam Phyu village named Ko San Htet Aung was struck by shrapnel, decapitated, and killed on the spot, while two other local residents sustained injuries.
