MALI 🇲🇱 | Yesterday, Wednesday, August 26, JNIM ambushed a joint FAMa-Africa Corps patrol near Er-Intedjeft, east of Ber (Timbuktu region).

🔸 The patrol had left the Ber camp in the morning and was targeted by two IEDs around midday, while heading towards Bourem. (thumbnail photo 📸)

After the explosions, JNIM terrorists opened fire on government forces and Russian paramilitaries. W-85 heavy machine guns mounted on pickup trucks were used, leading to intense fighting. RPGs, PKMs, AK-103s, and AKMs were also employed. (video in comments 📽️)

💥 Initial reports from the field indicate several dead and wounded among the Russian, Malian, and JNIM ranks. Numerous vehicles were also destroyed.

ℹ️ The attack was claimed and documented by JNIM.

⚠️ Sources indicate that a military convoy left Bourem earlier in the day to provide assistance to the victims of the ambush, but turned back due to ongoing fighting.
