Civilian Killed in Shwe Byat Village, Singu Township, Following Military Airstrike

A civilian was killed after a drone attack carried out by Myanmar's military from a base in Nyaung Pin Village, Singu Township, Mandalay Region, according to a statement released this evening by the Wetlet Information Network.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. today, troops stationed in Nyaung Pin Village launched a drone attack on Shwe Byat Village, dropping three bombs.

The Wetlet Information Network reported that U Tin Htun (64 years old) was killed instantly when the drone bombs exploded.

The report also noted that beginning on August 12, the military conducted aerial bombardments against Kyun Oo Village, Pauk Kone Village, Sin The Village, and Shwe Byat Village in Singu Township. As a result of those attacks, a woman in her sixties was killed.

According to Myanmar's National Unity Government (NUG) Ministry of Human Rights, during the five years since the military coup, a total of 791 civilians in Mandalay Region have been killed by military forces.
