Mizzima.. The Lingyun Nyinaung Guerrilla Force (Sagaing) announced on August 25 that three people were killed when they were attacked by a mine near Police Battalion (16) in Sagaing City, Sagaing Region, while providing security to a military convoy.
On August 23, at 3:31 p.m., a military convoy traveling from Monywa to Sagaing Division (33) was attacked with landmines while they were providing security and demanding money from passersby.
After laying the mines, the group fired more 40-mm shells, killing three people on the spot and injuring many others, the statement said.
An official from the Lingyun Nyinaung guerrilla force told Mizzima, “Three people died after being hit by a mine, and the others fought back and entered the police battalion (16). When there was a convoy going from Namkha to Sagaing Division 33, they had to provide security, and then they collected money.”
In addition, those working in the military junta's support departments, including the township and district general administration departments, land registry offices, and municipal development offices in Sagaing Township, are urged to conduct CDM as soon as possible and to cooperate with the public by staying at home instead of going to the office.
In addition, the group encourages people to join the campaign from Anyamyey to Sagaing.
