On 17 August 2026, an IED planted by an unknown armed group (likely Al Shabaab due to the use of a IEDs, which is associated with the group's operations in Hiraan region and based on recorded incidents) exploded, near an IDP camp site in Baidoa town (Baydhaba, Bay). 6 civilians were killed.
