On 19 August 2026, in Hlay Tin U village (Myaung township, Sagaing district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes with three jet fighters from Tada-U Air Base and dropped 6 bombs on a Starlink satellite internet shop around 7:00 pm. On 20 August 2026, Democratic Voice of Burma reported that the airstrike killed at least 1 civilian, injured many civilians, while Myanmar Now, Khit Thit Media, Radio Free Asia, Mizzima reported that the airstrike killed 2 people and injured 19 people. On 21 August 2026, Network Media Group and Narinjara News also reported that airstrike killed 2 people including a volunteer teacher, and Mizzima also reported that the airstriken killed 2 people and injured 14 people. The airstrike also damaged the houses. Fatalities coded as 2 using the most recent estimates.
